Cobalt City - Neighborhoods

2011 is the Year of the City. Part of that is a tour through Cobalt City, neighborhood by neighborhood, in a series of original short stories we're simply calling our Neighborhoods Project. Our third stop on the tour is Parkside, tucked between Lafayette Park to the west and bustling Downtown to the east, and home to opulent brownstones, boutiques, and luxury condos. Intended as a bridge between her story in Cobalt City Timeslip and her story in forthcoming Dark Carnival, it is written by Timid Pirate's classiest dame, Rosemary Jones, 'Location, Location, Location!' is free to download and read.

It is presented here as a pdf download.

Rosemary Jones writes fantasy and collects children's books. Her novels for Wizards of the Coast include City of the Dead (an adventure set in the graveyard of Waterdeep) and Crypt of the Moaning Diamond (underground mayhem complete with sorcery and a small white dog). Her short fiction can be found in the anthologies Realms of the Dragons II (WOTC), Realms of the Dead (WOTC), Close Encounters of the Urban Kind (Apex), Cobalt City Christmas (Timid Pirate Publishing), Hitting the Skids in Pixeltown (Phobos),and others. Visit her website for more info.

Cobalt City Biopunk Fiction

In celebration of Cobalt City Timeslip and Growing Dread: Biopunk Visions, we are pleased to present 'Tomorrow's Harvest' by Nikki Burns. Originally written for Timeslip, we realized that this story formed a perfect thematic bridge between the two books.

It is presented here as a free pdf download.

Nikki Burns has previously appeared in Cobalt City Christmas with her story 'Home for Christmas.' An emerging talent and long-time fan of the Cobalt City universe, Nikki is a Seattle area native. She has a strong affinity for nature, leading us to believe that she may, in fact, be a Druid.
